Feds Let Michael Vick Go, Goddell Still Has His Sights on Him

Michael Vick broke one more ankle tackle on Monday as his electronic surveillance bracelet was removed.

Now that he is no longer under federal observation, Vick still has quite a mountain to climb to get back onto the field. Yes, there will be training, convincing owners to buy into him and the contract negotiations, but nothing will match the mia culpa he will need to express to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

I am unsure when the face-to-face meeting will take place, but if Vick displays the contrition that I think Goodell and everyone else is expecting from him, then I think it’s likely that the commish lifts the indefinite suspension that Vick has been on since 2007.

Or, even after Vick served his federal penalty, Goodell may not be so quick to free Vick of any further penalty in his jurisdiction. Goodell does have a past of being a bit of an iron-fisted ruler when it comes to illegal activity. Just go talk to Adam Jones.

For Vick, we’ll just have to wait and see, but expect developing news from this story to flow quickly.

Has he paid his full price?
