Video: LeBron James Gets “Dunked On”

Within the past hour, I’ve watched two versions of the previously hidden tape that reportedly shows LeBron James getting posterized by Xavier sophomore Jordan Crawford.

Knee-jerk reaction: What? That’s it. THAT’S what Nike was falling over itself to destroy???

If you haven’t seen it yet, prepare to be disappointed …

See it here and, in lesser quality, here.

It’s obvious that we’ve let our imaginations run wild from what we’ve been told about this video’s content. But this isn’t a Vince-Carter-completely-over-a-7-foot-French-dude scenario. Not even close.

LeBron was out of position, caught off guard and didn’t slide over quick enough to give a legitimate challenge to Crawford. Crawford doesn’t dunk on top of King James, just to the side of him.

For Nike, I’ve heard of protecting your investment, but this is like an overprotective parent not letting their child outside in fear that they might catch a cold.

If you play basketball long enough, you’re going to get dunked on. But even now, what happened to LeBron James is nothing special. It happens so often in the NBA that stuff like this has turned boring. And when it’s built up to be something so astounding that to show it to human eyes is deemed as bad for business, well, it’s an understatement to say it’s a major letdown.

Now, if I am Jordan Crawford … there is no doubt that I dunked straight over the top of LeBron James, and that I cleared his head by at least a foot. Maybe two. I would play this clip every day. I would its screenshots make up the wallpaper in my house. I would have a closed-circuit television in every room play that footage on a loop until I died. Then, I would demand that the video be buried with me.

Crawford will be just a sophomore at Xavier this upcoming season. Who knows what he will do in his life, but no matter what, he’ll always be the guy that everyone says dunked on LeBron James. If he doesn’t play that up for everything it’s worth, that’s just bad marketing.

This is NOT what happened to LeBron James

This is NOT what happened to LeBron James.

Nice attempt at a blog you fucking idiot. Thanks for re-hasing everything I see/hear on TV and other credible blogs. Try bringing something new to the table.
